Does the GOP ever protest?

Do Republicans protest?

Now before you go all "well yeah they protest dumbass" on me let me just clarify what this thread is really about… Every time some conservative shows up to speak somewhere I always here a crap load about the "protesters" outside. Every single issue voter from the democratic side seems to be right there ready to protest… from pro-choice, gay marriage, to the environmental activists, they are always protesting…

In stark contrast, I never hear of a republican protestor… Now I know they exist… They do grab some media attention every now and then… most recently you'll see them with a sign that says flip-flop… or something about swift vets…(now as for protestors, I am not including 5/27 groups…yes, yes, yes. I know they are a group of protestors who take up money and provide commercials… The protesters I am talking about are the ones who stand outside a convention or a business…) But in comparison republican protestors are far less in numbers than to their democrat counterparts…

It's hard to come up with the answer…. But what the hell, I'll give it a shot! Perhaps its because democrats are more passionate… They have a strong will to try anything to get what they want… Possibly they are just historically are used to protesting… Or maybe republicans just see no point in protesting… They maybe take that effort and try to change things from the inside out…. Maybe republicans are lazy, or too busy working… Maybe they just don't care…

Personally I feel that it is because republicans see no point in protesting… As a libertarian I agree with it… What is the point? Think of it… a group of 20,50 or even a hundred protestors choose to stand outside a building where I will be giving a speech inside. The protestors are outside trying to have a voice in opposition to me… But you see, its not going to change what I say… I am not going to second guess my cause because of them. No perhaps that’s not their goal… maybe it's to be on T.V. or to change the view of my audience, or other people on the street… But really, I look at protestors as whiners… The most amount of change that could be done, require you to either work from the inside, or look professional and persuade voters/supporters to your side…

NOW LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! If not, my next post will be about why nobody posts a comment on my blog… maybe I will do that anyways…

I think Republicans aren't frequently seen protesting because it is a hippie liberal thing to do. Republicans tend to take action in other ways. Because most Republicans have more money than most Democrats, the Republicans don't have the limitations to have to do something that is free.

Besides, protesters are annoying and often rude and obnoxious. For example, one evening, a group of us were going to see the Great Govenor of the State of California in T3 at the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. We had to wait for an hour or so in a big long line outside for an hour or so before it started. This wouldn't have been a big deal except for the Anti-Abortion protestors with their large posters with pictures of fetuses on them. Whether or not you agree with them, that was disgusting. That is a huge tourist location, many, many families flock there every day. I realize that spreads your message, but why force it down our throats with disgusting pictures? And forcing children to see this? That is just awful and inappropriate.

If anything, people acting in such a way make me more angry and less likely to support their cause. (not that I often agree with the hippies anyway...)

I know what you mean about the comments on your blog Lego. It took a few posts before I started getting any. I only post comments when I have something worthwhile to say. ;-)

Republicans have more money??? I just thought that was a myth... Granted many labor union people are lower class... but most hard core liberals i know are very well off.... I would imagine that percentage is even greater in L.A. heck you guys have all those famous people who speak out... ;-) Maybe its just the pary in general is more well off than most of their midwest supporters ;)

I'm Republican, I protest. I have sign that says:

Abortion kills 8000 babies
in Jacksonville every year.

...but you're not likely to see it because of the liberal media bias.

Check out the media bias links on my website:
