It's all in the seed.
I was watching T.V. the other day, and I came across some bible-beating network… Now anyone who knows me, would say that I am not a religious person… They know that I get creeped out over organized faith, and the traditions that limit them… Don't get me wrong, I do believe in a God, and perhaps I'll dive into that later. But for now, let me talk about what message this little program sent me...
As I was saying, I flipped to a Christian network, and something made me stop… You can call it what ever you want, divine intervention, mental laps, or just my masochistic mindset. But there was a former Muslim man on there talking about God… His main point was that during prayer many people ask god for stupid things… Such as, please god give me a new car, please god give me a billion dollars… He also mentioned people saying such things as god please cure my cancer, but that didn't apply to my message. So lets skip that part.
Well this preacher said something, about those people who ask god for all of those things. He said something like, God doesn't run a car lot, and God doesn't own a bank… God gives seed. Now that’s the part that struck me… It was a great way for me to look at life, and to look at politics…
The government gives seed. The government can affect the climate for your seed to grow, but ultimately it is up to you to sow that seed. You plant the seed, and eat its fruits; you don't just eat the seed… Far too often do I see people from all walks of life blaming the government for everything, or demanding the officials give them what they need… but all they need is seed.
Some people think that the government creates jobs… Hell even the politicians promise they will create jobs…(and they will, in their cabinet). The thing about creating jobs is, that only the people create jobs. Those few brave souls who risk it all to make a few bucks in life. Those souls who start up a business, and hire people to help them, that is how this works. The state and national government help the climate; they can only relieve the pressure of taxes that discourage brave people to risk it all. If the government was to be the one to control the creation of jobs, then we would be communist. Now we all know how successful that is…
Now this basically covers our economy and government welfare systems, you can try and apply it to health care and other issues, but it would get long and drawn out and confusing for the both of us. So basically, this just affirms my strong belief in personal responsibility. So for those of you out there who ask for everything, take my advice, and look in your hand… See that? Use it! Use your ability to work hard and smart, put your effort into it, and then watch it grow… And if you wonder why some others are making it farther and faster than you, with the same or sometimes even less effort… Well it has nothing to do with you, they were just LUCKy enough to find some fertilizer.
