It was a long lasting celebration, that I actually remember.

Now I just got to learn my lesson's from last year, and try apply it all for 06. Last year was a hell of year, and I seemed to fall on my face repeatedly. Mistakes happen, but repeating them is just pathetic. So that's my first resolution, no more repeating mistakes leggy! 05 was also a year of some small steps in personal growth. I have learned to live on my own, no roommates, no girlfriends, no help. It's a huge change for me, and it has helped me become a better person. I still have a long way to go. So number two... Keep on truckin Lego, you'll only get better at managing your money(I hope) and learing who you really are, (find the real you). Lastly 2006 was a year of heartbreak. I have spent all of it single, and I spent it hanging on to fools hope... The girl of my dreams struggled with letting me go, but ultimately, she made a good choice and left. It forced me to see, and still see a lot of things that need to change. Still in a tailspin, I am learning that I need to give, with out expectation of getting something back. By give, I mean anything; love, money, time, and other favors. So this year, I need to learn to take risks again, break the wall I built, learn to be happy in loneliness and to stop trying to control outcomes.

2005 had more setbacks for me than positives. But I plan to remain optimistic and hopefully 2006 will be my best year yet. So here's to the new year, I hope all is well with you, and that in this time of renewal you make the best of it...

My hollywood trip

February 19th thru the 23rd I was in L.A.

I was mainly there to see the sites, get a feel for the town I plan to move to, and also to meet some online friends. My trip went well, and I learned a lot… It rained the whole time I was there, but I didn't mind. The weather was way better then my home state of Wisconsin.

Now this is my first trip ever by myself. So when I landed in Orange County, and took my shuttle to West Hollywood, I called my pals. You may know of them as, COCLES and PIXIE. I had never met them before, so we agreed to meet out side this Quizno's by my hotel. I walked there, sat down, and waited…

"Was he a killer, no… what if he is weird, he has to be a little…. But what if he is really, really weird… what if they don't like you… what if…" and then finally I saw a couple walk towards Quizno's from the parking lot. It wasn't what I expected. A very large Black guy with a short white girl came down the sidewalk… I looked and made eye contact with these people and they just gave me a weird look… It wasn't them. So I waited some more, and after one couple of gay males, and two couples of Hispanics, finally I saw them…

They strolled up and immediately recognized me. Cocles beaming with arrogance, and pixie glowing with a huge smile. I knew it was them… We talked for a bit, over some jamba juice, it wasn't awkward at all… Cocles wouldn't stop talking and I could not stop listening… They took me out to dinner, and it was great… I had never experienced valet parking, or riding in a nice Mercedes. Afterwards I went and saw the apartment they had… we stayed up late, talking and playing some Mario kart…

As the days went on I really got a feel for what the real cocles and pixie are like. And I am glad to say, I like them and consider them a friend. Cocles talked with me a lot about the Hollywood business. And I can't wait to go out and see if I have what it takes. Just waiting on some finances, and I'll be there.
I would like to thank you Uncle Cocles, and Aunt Pixie. You made my trip a blast! I hope to see you soon… Now for the rest of you who want to know what they are really like… well cocles is a girl and pixie is actually a man. Just kidding… Cocles actually is a huge gentlemen to his wife. And she is a very solid lady who keeps him in line…

My TICKET!!!

So on Sunday, I was finishing up a long weekend of a family reunion on my step-dad's side. It was in Wisconsin Dells, about an hour north of here… After breakfast that morning, I began my trip home to Madison, driving solo on the interstate… I was cruising along changing my speed with the flow of traffic… Sometimes speeding up to pass slow groups, and then setting myself back at about 7mph over the 65 limit…

About 15 miles from my house I was pulled over… I got in a line of cars that flew up on my left… I joined in behind them… up ahead was two semi's passing each other in the right two lanes… Too keep up with the left lane I was driving 84… That’s when it happened… The cop sitting up ahead in the median pulled out and turned on his lights, I never saw him coming, in stead I hit my breaks like the cars in front of me and wondered why they were all braking.

When I was pulled over he asked a question to what I'm sure my answer wouldn't have mattered. "Why were you going 84 in a 65?" He was a typical state patrol officer, except he was acting a little extra macho in front of some civilian clothed ride along. I replied with the truth. "Just flowing the flow of cars in front of me, getting around these trucks."
It's then he comes to tell me that the cars in front were going much slower. They had the guy in front of me at 82… then he said he saw me… So I was the big fish because I didn't see the little blue car when I cam over the hill. My ticket cost, 230 dollars. 4 points will be deducted from my license… my insurance, priceless! At least it is now.

Since it is my first EVER offense, I plan to go to my court date and see if I can't get it lowered. But after my ordeal it got me thinking about government regulation. I understand speeding laws… Cars at high speeds are unsafe. But what is high? And what if all cars are going fast and the meet one really slow one? Who is MORE dangerous? I think it would be that slow car… Now I am putting this in the context of Interstate Highway's and other roads that require a person to use and exit and entrance ramp anytime they want to change directions. If I was in a residential area, or some backwoods-winding road, I can see the dangers I would present. But on an inter-state where traffic is already moving at fatality rates, and other cars are driving even faster, I tend to think of it as less of a crime.

This is building up to a post I am still working on. It's all about government regulation. This was just a way to set up my perspective. So in the mean time, think about this… Imagine if we had the safety regulations on travel and shipping today like we did when the west was still being developed… Kids in covered wagons, would have to be strapped down like luggage. If anyone were hauling certain cargo they would need permits, and delegated driving hours. Most people would need insurance incase their wagon breaks and hurts other travelers. And if you traveled in California, they would have to regulate what type of feed you gave your horse…(emission standards.)

I doubt the west would be what it is now… Just my thought

How government should work.

This is something I typed up during the election... i never posted it, but i figure i might as well do it now.

How your government should work.

Now this again is just my humble little opinion from a wiseass 22-year-old kid. Here is the deal… I look at my government through many different views… I would like to explain one of them right now… I see government as a business. We are all the customers who buy services provided by the government. We buy defense, we buy education, and we pay for paved streets, clean air, water, parks, garbage, and justice… We pay for all this and more through a little something called the tax system.

Recently one of my senators, Russ Fiengold was defending his seat in the house. In his campaign he spoke about many things he is for, and what he was against… Well one of them has sparked me to write this post. He mentioned a bill he was/is? trying to pass that strengthens the "buy American act". (That basically means the U.S. government needs to buy American made products/services only.) Now I try to usually buy American products myself… I figure I am helping our local economy, and that makes up for the higher price. But having my government buy American stuff only is, well, kind of stupid… Now those who disagree just calm down and let me explain…

First off remember that view of government being a business… If the government was a smarter business it could get its ass out of debt… But sense the government is designed to break even we have out little problem of our debt… We have butt loads of it, and the way to get out of it is by the government breaking the rules for a little while by making a prophet. They can do this many ways, cut spending, and reduce overhead cost. You may want to add raising taxes, but i dissagree... the only time they need to be raised is when inflation weakens the dollar. If you are looking for a third option... it would be to reduce almost all services and let the private sector take over...

Now I know debt can be a problem, even though national debt doesn't really effect your everyday life, it still could harm our future... Sorry I am getting sidetracked… Lets get back to that "Buy American Act". I don't like it, it's stupid… As the government as a business, buying American products only increases overhead cost… Now that means it increases the cost required for them to provide the service, which results in a loss in prophet if they were going for one, and a definite increase in the price they charge. (As in your taxes go up, because they pass some of the higher cost they have on to you…)

I personally would like to see the government get more bang for my tax buck… example… lets say all federal courts need new gables. The government can either buy 300 American gables at 50 dollars a piece, or 300 non-American gables at 5 dollars a piece at the same quality…. Hmmmmmmm.... If I was running a business that was lossing money every day, i'd have to suck it up and buy some forgien gabble... perhaps if I eventually save my business, I could possibly afford to through some of the money i have back into the u.s market, in stead of the worlds market.

Now you can argue the government buying American products helps boost our economy, but I argue taxing everyone LESS helps us more than buying some specific American companies products… which most likely that company hires some out of country manufacturer to create the product and then charge a hire price to customers.

I encourage you, if you have the extra dollar to buy American products, but our government needs to be a bit more efficient, and that means giving them more options. They need to deal with companies that globally compete to offer our government the best value. After all, we try to practice a free market here in the U.S. Shouldn't our government get to participate too?

where's LEGO?

I AM ALIVE AND SEXY AS EVER. I am not going to spin this. I am only going to give my unique opinion on what I get from the latest findings.

To set up my perspective we need to go back a few years… Back to when Billy was president shortly after the first WTC attacks… Now not many American or global citizens remember those first attacks… I must admit that they left my memory fairly quickly. It wasn't until the 9/11 attacks that I realized how important any attack is. And so it wasn't until after the 9/11 attacks that we learned that William Jefferson had Osama in his sights… let me say that again… It was not too long after our first attack that the United States military had Osama located, and the chance to kill him. They neglected to do so, and years later, the buildings fell.

Now I do not wish to compare Sadam with Osama, they are two very different men… And although Sadam has never attacked American soil, he was still a prick. I see the world safer and better for not having him in power.

The latest report not only confirms the lack of Weapons of Mass Destruction, but also confirms Sadams attempts to have sanctions lifted so that he could again build up an army, with WMDS included. He feared IRAN, he thought the only way he could be safe was to have as much power… Sadam had the raw materials and was abusing the food for oil programs as a way to gain power with other nations. In order for Sadam to have ever created WMD, would be to have people leave him alone.

Now, the threat of Sadam having Weapons was not him using them on us… It was him selling them to terrorists. And I believe that if he would have been left alone, four years later we would have been watching more buildings fall. The bottom line is that Bush did what bill did not do… He took out a future threat. Iran is next…

Now I am not totally happy no WMD was found… It would have made for a nice Hollywood ending, breaking in at the last second, right when the threat is at its highest. Bust up a Sadam meeting with some soon to be famous terrorist group AL-POOPA that was about to buy some big as weapons that can kill millions. It would have been just like some action flick you would watch on T.V. The press praise would have been high, and afterwards we would be lifted like heroes.

In sharp contrast we have played it safe… No Hollywood ending, no fame or glory. We took the bad guy out before he could have grown as a major threat. We sit here now, trying to rebuild a country that someday will be a huge help in changing the Middle East to a land of peace, and cooperation.
I understand that Hindsight is 20/20, that many things could have been different… But I prefer to look towards the future, to see a threat and cease the moment…Offense is the best defense.

DON'T VOTE.

First off I am sooo ready for the campaigning to be over… I live in a battle ground state and as much as I get into politics, this is too much… But the worst part is seeing everything get more and more tense… It's just… a headache…

Lately I see many people, some famous some not so famous, but no matter who they are, they all have one common message… VOTE… vote for change, vote for Kerry, vote for the common man… vote for freedom, vote for Bush… And I am coming out with my own message, my own request.

There are people out here in this world who are stupid… Now I know it may seem wrong to say, but damn it is true. There are some really stupid people. These "people" lack independent thought. They cannot think for themselves. You can ask them, what do you want to do tonight? And they will reply with… "I don't know, what do you want to do?" These people hear something from someone that they grow to respect, and they treat it as gospel… The person of their interest could tell them that the world is actually flat and that the government created the round myth… The stupid people would probably believe this…

So today we have everyone trying to get the stupid vote… I see it more on the left side, but I know both do it… You can see it too… Any time someone from Hollywood comes out and says vote for so and so and here are some B.S. reasons why… you can listen to the lyrics of some of the hit pop songs… or watch a movie about how bad the opposite side is… MTV will have their play on telling people to vote… just vote, but just so you know you will be "cool" if you vote for John Kerry…

(Can you tell I have a problem with celebs ordering people to go vote at the polls, they knowingly use their influence to affect minds of the stupid.)

Personally I would rather have smart people go to the polls… people who are educated and took time to weigh some options… then I could say that I won the educated vote… Unlike the opposite… Which would be, "I had millions vote for me because they did what Ben Aflec told them to do… They couldn't think for themselves, so they we told them what to think… I am great!"

This why I am coming out with my message… DON'T VOTE YOU IDIOT.
I feel this is the way to go… the people who would listen to this shouldn't vote anyways… they don't think for themselves… It is one of my biggest pet peeves! People who buy into everything that is thrown at them.
Let me know what you think… I would like to see people pass a test to see who they should vote for… instead of two candidates, people vote on each issue, with a few paragraphs describing each sides point of view… then you rate how important that issue is to you… at the end everything is weighed and your vote goes to a candidate that best represents YOUR interest…

THE DRAFT SHAFT

I am sure most of you will have seen this E-mail… Or even heard it on that credible "news network" MTV…(I wish they just did music, I said music mind you, not rap.) Anyways, for those of you who want a review here it is…

"Mandatory draft for boys and girls (ages 18-26) starting June 15, 2005, is something that everyone should know about. This literally affects everyone since we all have or know children that will have to go if this bill passes.

There is pending legislation in the house and senate (twin bills: S89 and HR 163) which will time the program's initiation so the draft can begin as early as spring, 2005, just after the 2004 presidential election. The administration is quietly trying to get these bills passed now, while the public's attention is on the elections, so our action on this is needed immediately. Details and links follow. This plan, among other things, eliminates higher education as a shelter and includes women in the draft. Also, crossing into Canada has already been made very difficult.

Actions: Please send this on to all the parents and teachers you know, and all the aunts and uncles, grandparents, godparents. . . And let your children know - - it's their future, and they can be a powerful voice for change!

This legislation is called HR 163 and can be found in detail at this website: http://thomas.loc.gov/ Just enter in "HR 163" and click search and will bring up the bill for you to read. "

Now I have gotten this letter more than five times now… So to those of you idiots who keep sending it to me, STOP IT!!!!!!!… (damn that felt good) Now that I have said that allow me to add a bit more… Those of you who send emails like this are often those morons who send me other BULLSHIT forwards like "send this to everyone you know and bill gates will give you thousands of dollars." "Outback steak house will give you free food if you forwards this… trust me it WORKS" "Forward this to 100 people or else the love fairy will come along and rip your heart out of your chest, and then cut of your penis and send you to the playboy mansion."(Actually that one almost came true…) Anyways…. STOP SENDING THOSE TOO, YOU FRICKING A-HOLE!

Now lets get on with the point of this soon to be famous post! This draft in 2005 donkeyshit is exactly what I say, shit spewing from the mouth of the democratic party. I understand the democrats have a lot ridding on the election, but bringing up the draft is just getting pathetic…

So here is the scoop on the poop. There will be no draft! Let me repeat that… THERE…. WILL…. BE…. NO…. DRAFT…. And here are some reasons why… Number 1 reason: Wars are NOT fought the way they used to be… we can do more fighting, more combat, and cause more destruction with a fraction of men that we used. You may argue that man power is needed to keep peace… Men are needed to patrol the streets of IRAQ or any country under possible civil turmoil… And that is why the "evil" administration is focusing on the Iraqi's to police their streets. Only 50,000 now are being trained… more money and time will be invested to get the locals to lead themselves, before a draft…

Number 2: Women will definitely not be drafted… Women would be a last resort… Nothing against my female counterparts, but hardly any of them make it to the front lines when they volunteer. It is a tough job, men are typically more suited for it… I think its evolution. (one bull can fertilize the herd…)Anyways, ladies, if in the off chance we enter a world war three and women are called into a draft, you'll be there running computers… or possibly driving a tank… us dudes will be out walking with a little gun on our side…

Number 2.5: number two was only for women… Now there is draft legislation floating around the congress… It was set up by two Democrats, a Mr. Charles Rangel from Harlem, and the soon to retire Mr. Ernest Hollings from South Carolina. Now there reasons range from not thinking the rich are there fighting… (poor, poor, Pat Tillman… He died serving our country when he could be playing football…) And another reason is because these guys love our smaller European countries that require mandatory service… Well folks as much as a good idea these two think it is, I am sure they know deep down that this will fail legislation.

Number 3: Okay… here is the thing. BUSH has said numerous times that he will not issue a draft! He believes in the young men and women who volunteer to serve our country. Draft soldiers do not have a fighting spirit like those who volunteer. Draft soldiers can often get in the way more than helping, especially in this day in age when I see constant attacks by the media and the elite left who try to brake the morality of our beloved soldiers, and the publics support. (they hate that by the way.)

Number 4: EVEN if Bush did want to issue a draft… He can't do it alone… He would have to pass legislation, have it approved and then he could sign off on it… That’s not going to happen silently nor will it get the votes… Those boys in the white house have different term limits. Bush can only be president for a maximum of 8 years, and then he'll be done… some senators and congressmen can go for 20 plus years… just look at Kerry. They like those jobs, they get comfortable, they will not do anything extreme like voting for a reissue of the draft…

Now to address other parts of this Email… they say the borders are getting tighter by Canada… I say about time but that’s beside the point! The borders are getting tight… we are being stricter on who comes INTO the country not out!!! It would be up to Canada to let you in, and trust me they want you in… the more people they can tax the better…
So enclosing… email you friends and tell them Bill gates won't give you a million dollars for forwarding emails, tell them the draft non-sense is what it is… And as a personal favor to me, and some friends of mine that are in the reserves and now being called up… Do not call it a back door draft… Most people that are reservists that are being called back up hate that… They volunteered for a reason, there are things people think are still worth fighting for… There are people who still have enough pride in this country that they are willing to risk their lives for it… And these people deserve the respect of what a true volunteer deserves… Please send my message on… tell those who have concern the truth… Allow them the freedom to vote for who ever they wish, just make sure they know to rule this "issue" out when making a decision… its just bullshit politics…

Thank you to my service men and women...

A SIGN of protest....

Okay this is for all you idiots out there… I realize that people who actually do this type of bullshit, would never read my blog anyways… That is why I am calling on you smart, educated, civil readers of my thoughts to take action and slap the political penis heads from both sides of the aisle who act like this…

Just this week here in my town, there were some signs destroyed… One incident on the west side had the signs supporting Bush destroyed, while weed killer was used to kill the grass in the homeowners lawn… The used the weed killer to form a swastika… Other parts of WI signs supporting George were ripped up, cut down and sometimes set on fire. No I will be balanced and admit that there have been Kerry signs destroyed as well… And I have to ask…. WHAT THE FU*K YOU BASTARDS!?!? What is the damn point!

It seems to me that there are some people who don't believe in freedom of speech… and some of those people align themselves with a party who likes to say that they have the open mind… Always confused me…. Sorry… unrelated. Now on with the business at hand… It seems to me that these pricks need to be dealt with… So if you catch anyone like this, send the cops…

This whole way of "protesting" reminds me of all of those SUV'S that had their tires slashed on earth day…. Great thinking… tires come from oil, you waste the tires, you caused a minor inconvience to those rich people who can afford big SUV'S, triple A, and then also easily afford new tires…
I have so many fricking stories about sign bashing and it pisses me off way too much for me to fricking comment on all of it. Besides I need to gear up to see this debate… I need to prepare some grub, some beer and then a bucket so I can puke after hearing too much bullshit…

Does the GOP ever protest?

Do Republicans protest?

Now before you go all "well yeah they protest dumbass" on me let me just clarify what this thread is really about… Every time some conservative shows up to speak somewhere I always here a crap load about the "protesters" outside. Every single issue voter from the democratic side seems to be right there ready to protest… from pro-choice, gay marriage, to the environmental activists, they are always protesting…

In stark contrast, I never hear of a republican protestor… Now I know they exist… They do grab some media attention every now and then… most recently you'll see them with a sign that says flip-flop… or something about swift vets…(now as for protestors, I am not including 5/27 groups…yes, yes, yes. I know they are a group of protestors who take up money and provide commercials… The protesters I am talking about are the ones who stand outside a convention or a business…) But in comparison republican protestors are far less in numbers than to their democrat counterparts…

It's hard to come up with the answer…. But what the hell, I'll give it a shot! Perhaps its because democrats are more passionate… They have a strong will to try anything to get what they want… Possibly they are just historically are used to protesting… Or maybe republicans just see no point in protesting… They maybe take that effort and try to change things from the inside out…. Maybe republicans are lazy, or too busy working… Maybe they just don't care…

Personally I feel that it is because republicans see no point in protesting… As a libertarian I agree with it… What is the point? Think of it… a group of 20,50 or even a hundred protestors choose to stand outside a building where I will be giving a speech inside. The protestors are outside trying to have a voice in opposition to me… But you see, its not going to change what I say… I am not going to second guess my cause because of them. No perhaps that’s not their goal… maybe it's to be on T.V. or to change the view of my audience, or other people on the street… But really, I look at protestors as whiners… The most amount of change that could be done, require you to either work from the inside, or look professional and persuade voters/supporters to your side…

NOW LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! If not, my next post will be about why nobody posts a comment on my blog… maybe I will do that anyways…

ATTENTION MR OBLIVIOUS!!!!

Growing up in a small town has definitely shaped my view on life… And though many people think that my experience may be stunted for being in a small town, I can only reply with the fact that I have had different experiences… One of those experiences applies to this post.

In my hometown, we had a volunteer fire department along with volunteer emergency technicians… In many small towns like mine the regulars get to know these people… These brave souls work with us, their kids play with your kids, you watch them playing in a local softball game… These people might be your cousins, your parents, or even you. In my town I knew many of these volunteers… I respect those volunteers as much as the professionals…

So now you know where I am coming from when I say ATTENTION MR. OBLIVIOUS!!!!! It is one of my biggest problems with other drivers on the road… The drivers that are sealed off from everyone else on the road… These assholes cut in front of you… They never use their directionals, and if they do, they tend to leave them on for miles down the interstate… They slam on their breaks, and they come close to hitting everyone around them. But worst of all they never notice the ambulance or fire trucks behind them… Those flashing lights and ear piercing sirens cannot penetrate the thick skull behind the wheel.

Now knowing people who drive or ride in these emergency vehicles, I can speak for them when I say that they hate people like this… These people slow them up, cause accidents, and possibly even prevent them from saving lives… I know these people who volunteer. They are on call for 24 hours, days on end. They take saving lives seriously… They have a passion for it, so when they show up a minute too late… They are devastated.
So if you are one of these people who never notice the polite emergency response people. Please, please, please! I beg you. Just look in your review mirror from time to time… we can work on those other problems you have later… But if you see flashing red lights, or hear loud sirens… pull over to the right lane, or shoulder… You never know, they may be rushing to save you someday.

Talkin' bout my Generation!

I have a bone to pick with my generation. There seems to be this whole notion that its hip to hate the country… I see this in many people my age, even my ex girlfriend. They are quick when it comes to pointing out the flaws of our country. The mistakes our past leaders have made. The walk with the most negative view on our country and they hold the least hope for current and future times. It breaks my beating heart.

I love my country and I am not afraid to say it… Where I am from, patriotism is left up for the rednecks with flags on their pick up trucks. Most kids in college walk around with this uppity ass attitude that they know all the problems about America and that the rednecks are just ignorant hicks. Well ladies and gentlemen I am not ignorant, and even though I am from Wisconsin, I am not a hick. I simply hold my country close to my heart, and the optimistic view on my life spills onto the future of this country. I respect those who have served to protect this land. I think of the lives and the intent of Americas founding fathers on a weekly basis. I am a proud American. I believe that we as a country are exceptional, not because we are better, but because we are the most free. I see us as a the hope. We have our problems, and past mistakes, but the great things, and good deeds we have done far out shine the bad.

I believe in our freedom to critize our government... but I also beleive the good shouldn't go unoticed. I'll give credit where credit is due, and my country deserves some credit. So in the words of my generation... Party on, party on...

It's all in the seed.

I was watching T.V. the other day, and I came across some bible-beating network… Now anyone who knows me, would say that I am not a religious person… They know that I get creeped out over organized faith, and the traditions that limit them… Don't get me wrong, I do believe in a God, and perhaps I'll dive into that later. But for now, let me talk about what message this little program sent me...

As I was saying, I flipped to a Christian network, and something made me stop… You can call it what ever you want, divine intervention, mental laps, or just my masochistic mindset. But there was a former Muslim man on there talking about God… His main point was that during prayer many people ask god for stupid things… Such as, please god give me a new car, please god give me a billion dollars… He also mentioned people saying such things as god please cure my cancer, but that didn't apply to my message. So lets skip that part.

Well this preacher said something, about those people who ask god for all of those things. He said something like, God doesn't run a car lot, and God doesn't own a bank… God gives seed. Now that’s the part that struck me… It was a great way for me to look at life, and to look at politics…

The government gives seed. The government can affect the climate for your seed to grow, but ultimately it is up to you to sow that seed. You plant the seed, and eat its fruits; you don't just eat the seed… Far too often do I see people from all walks of life blaming the government for everything, or demanding the officials give them what they need… but all they need is seed.

Some people think that the government creates jobs… Hell even the politicians promise they will create jobs…(and they will, in their cabinet). The thing about creating jobs is, that only the people create jobs. Those few brave souls who risk it all to make a few bucks in life. Those souls who start up a business, and hire people to help them, that is how this works. The state and national government help the climate; they can only relieve the pressure of taxes that discourage brave people to risk it all. If the government was to be the one to control the creation of jobs, then we would be communist. Now we all know how successful that is…
Now this basically covers our economy and government welfare systems, you can try and apply it to health care and other issues, but it would get long and drawn out and confusing for the both of us. So basically, this just affirms my strong belief in personal responsibility. So for those of you out there who ask for everything, take my advice, and look in your hand… See that? Use it! Use your ability to work hard and smart, put your effort into it, and then watch it grow… And if you wonder why some others are making it farther and faster than you, with the same or sometimes even less effort… Well it has nothing to do with you, they were just LUCKy enough to find some fertilizer.

My first time

My first time… I know what you are thinking…and it is not about sex. Today is my first time hearing the radio station "air America". For those of you who don't know, Air America is a liberal, or Left Wing talk radio program… Now I've heard right wing radio… It's been in my area for a long time, and my dad always listens. I have listened to the "evil" Rush Limbaugh, and other local hosts while with my dad… But even across the country, Left wing F.M. talk radio is relatively new.

Okay now back to my experience… I wasn't expecting it to happen… It just happened, I wasn't expecting it. I hardly knew what it was all about. And I know I wasn't ready for the emotional stress that it would put on me… But on my way to work this morning, I was flipping through my fm dial… I came across 92.1 F.M. a normally easy listening program… Except today… Today my dial landed here, and all I heard was catchy jingles, and music with obvious words that were taken out of context being played over the music… I was thinking some morning show like BOB & TOM, decided to make fun of the whole election…I kept waiting for a little Kerry bashing… Anything about waffles, or flip flops, purple hearts…But after about 3 songs, one calling Bush a liar and the other two about speech problems, and then two clips making more fun of the economy and Bush speech, the whole thing started over…

At first I though, "Great! Some nut job locked himself in the studio and is playing the same crap over and over and over…" This went on for an hour or more… I know this because I kept checking in on it… After hearing it the first time, it got really old… I'll admit that I chuckled, but I can only laugh at something for so long… It would have been annoying if it was bashing Kerry, or praising me over and over and over again… The same clips, in the same order…

It wasn't until I showed up to work, and pointed out my theory that a person cracked in the head locked them self in the radio station… The told me that "AIR AMERICA" The lefts answer to Rush Limbaugh has come to Madison, to set balance in the media, and to save the country from the evil hatred of the right. Well now this had me think that some dingus chose to play that crap over and over and over again…who had that idea? It sure as hell made me not want to listen to them…. I love bush jokes… I love Kerry jokes… But imagine if you heard the same five over and over for about ten minutes because you couldn't believe that it was being played over and over…

I flipped back to it since… Just once while I was at work… I was curious to see if that's all it was about… but I was wrong thankfully… Except I got to hear Al Franklin's hair lip voice talking about how George f'd the economy. Now Al can be funny, He was great on T.V… He looks funny and his voice works for him when you see him… But his voice just his voice is nauseating….
In closing I say good luck to you "Air America"… You'll need it with programming like that.

Moore going for best pic?

Michael Moore has taken himself out of the running for an Oscar in best documentary… The pompous prick said it was to give the others a chance, and that he wants to go for best pic…

Well now, that’s interesting… Perhaps its because Fahrenheit 9/11 was never a documentary. But it is an event to be had either way. Johnsonville Brats are by far the best brats on the planet… And they even use a semi trailer as a grill to cook them… God they are good….

Now I know this only proves that hick image Wisconsin has… But we can't deny that this state loves good brats. Now growing up here, brats are at every cook out… I have always been a good sport about food, but I think I know why I never liked brats before… The problem is some people buy cheap brats, and most importantly they don't know how to cook them….

It wasn't until last Memorial Day when I had my first enjoyable brat experience… It was at brat fest, and it was a Johnsonville. I was told I had to try one, because anytime I am hanging out with someone, I have him or her try my New Glarus Spotted Cow beer…(local ale)… Some people say no, that they don't like beer, so they try to refuse a sample. But I usually insist, and say that this is no beer, and that not all beer is created equal. So they try it and love it… Well, I have learned that not all brats are created equal. So next time buy Johnsonville brats.

As for cooking the brats… well come this way… Forget those people who tell you to pre cook them on the stove in beer and onions… BLAH! Just take you grill and set it up as follows…(now this is from the Johnsonville grill master so listen up)
Set your grill to have indirect heat… that means keep the coals around the outside of the grill, and use a cheap aluminum pan in the middle of the coals to catch the grease. This prevents flare-ups… Also keep that heat on LOW! Do not ever over cook a brat. It may take a while but it's all worth it…

Feel free to try other ways of cooking brats… you may like it… Try the daredevil way by cooking with direct heat… Good luck, and have fun eating!

True ARTIST?

A note on all the "artists" out there… Here is the deal, I am not a professional actor, I am a wanna be professional actor. With that said, take what I say now how you want, I am most certain Cocles will reply with his professional 2 cents…

As a young kid who has always wanted to be an actor, I have come across certain types of "actors". This is very common out here in the Midwest where many people have had great dreams such as I do, but many have failed to try to make them true, or they have tragically failed trying.

Now when one fails, they have two options… The first option is to try and make the very best of their failed attempts. They do this by helping other young actors. They lend advice, coaching, and moral support to those who can hopefully succeed where they did not… Those of you who choose this first option, I applaud you. You are in rare number here in the Midwest… And I would have loved to known more of you.

Now there is another option… There is a darker more common lifestyle that I have seen in my day. These are the people who after not making their dreams come true, they decide that they should change their dreams to meet their success, and they blame their limited success on Hollywood. They grow bitter to anyone who makes it in Hollywood today, they despise any young actor who dreams of making it on film. They are the people who once had those same dreams, but now they curse actors who make money…

I see these with all sorts of artists… Writers, directors, musicians, painters…. They all try to claim that they now do it for the craft. For the love of the art… If someone makes money off of their art they are selling out… "Its only true and pure when that evil money doesn't corrupt it… that’s why we are starving artists… it’s the only way to be man…" Even though if anyone of these people had the chance to make really good money on their craft they would be singing dancing wearing pepsi cola t-shirts while eating a subway sub smoking a pack of menthol lights.
I have no message to any "artist" who lives this second option, other than I know the truth… OH and for you other young actors who claim to not watch T.V. or Movies. WELL you better start if you are serious about making a living, those people on T.V. and them ther Movin Picutres will be your peers, even if you try to just do stage work… :)

Last and certianly least....

Well, least likely to ever be heard or respected.

I post this blog because some people out there think its all roses for the youngest born. Although it may be true that the youngest has many advantages (while they are young) they have just as many disadvantages. But let me start out with a personal introduction…
Hello my name is Lego (actually its not, but some of you internet people scare me from using my first name.) and I am the youngest. I have three older sisters that are all 7,5, and 3 years older than me.

Now lets list the goods on being the youngest… generally your older sibling has paved the way for you… they have already fought the big battles and depending on how they did, you could have a better chance at winning when you grow to face those same battles such as curfew, dating, bedtime, and anything else you can think of…

Being the youngest also means you get the most presents at Christmas…You receive more attention while you are young, and keeping with the while you are young you are also the cutest… Your older siblings may buy you beer, and possibly stick up for you when you get picked on. You can get more help with your homework, and advice on lots of life's lessons.

Now lets get to the point… You will always get advice, even when you don't want it. You will be treated like the baby (and called it) no matter how old you get. Don't bother saying anything smart because you will not be heard. After all what could you possibly know, you are too young? While growing up, if you older siblings were bad, then there is a greater chance mom and pops will be stricter on you. If they did well in school, more will be expected from you. You will have fewer photos taken of your childhood; depending on the number of children you will receive less financial support. And expect, possibly even grow to love those hand me downs…
Let me know your experience by posting a comment.

Swifty media... part II

Hey kids. It's been a while since I made a post… But you are safe to know this is not about politics… Just kidding!

Here is part TWO!

Finally the group "SWIFT BOAT VETS FOR TRUTH" is getting some media attention. As anyone could have guessed, they are just being attacked. Well they are not being attacked so much as the republicans and good ol Bushy Bush. If you ever hear the news you will notice that CBS often refers to the Republican supported group SBVFT. But there is one problem with that. There are just as many democrats in that group as republican. Yes a rich voting American citizen who happens to live in Texas threw down a chunk of change to help pay for commercial spots is a republican. But what does that even matter?

Recently Sen. John Kerry has told these "right wing attack dogs" that they are lying… That these decorated vets are being paid for by bush, and that bush should stop these heartless attacks. It is funny, Michael Moore spends a ton of money on a film, and the press praises it. They say, " Obviously its Mr. Moore's opinion and perspective but it should be seen by everyone to open up the lines of debate." And now here is a thirty second commercial being blasted by everyone in the media, and on the left. No one wants to debate or debunk these charges, especially John Kerry. Moore, is supported by John and many others, but Bush hasn't endorsed the vets, he hasn't denounced them, he is just letting the people have their voice. Disagree or not, people have the right to say what they want, if its un-true, Challenge them, show your facts, don't just cut them down.

Maybe a debate about these days in Vietnam that Mr. Kerry has so chosen to use as is centerpiece for his candidacy, perhaps I just need patients to here both sides.
Anything to add? Post a comment. Want to yell at me? Post a comment.

Politics and the media; part 1

Time to get political. I have been wanting to hold off a bit, but damn it I am a sick of the garbage I see. All of the B.S. I hear, has forced me to join in, or at least fix the plumbing so that People get some of this sewage out of their way.

The Media~ Left or Right?

Lets get right to it. People have opinions and their opinions shape their view along with affecting their actions. People report news and own stations. People create wonderful music and movies.

Lately I have been hearing a lot of shit about how the media is so called right wing… They say, "Just look at FOX NEWS they are so right wing, and don't forget about that evil right wing talk radio circuit." "Man all of our news is corrupted by the republicans! I want the real story of Iraq, Why hasn't anyone in the news reported what I saw in Fahrenheit 9/11?"

Of course the people who think that the media is all right wing is hearing this from the left wing liberal media. First off, let me start out by slapping you dunder heads who think that MICHEAL MOORE actually tells the truth. Its not news, and that is why most of that shit isn't reported by CNN or FOX. Both news networks like to keep things close to the facts, Moore just uses exaggeration and false information to push a point…. Now with that said let me move on…

I will give you people who buy into this crap that the "media is controlled by the republicans", that talk radio is very conservative… Majority of talk shows are slanted to the right. And yes Fox News is further right than other news networks. But trust me when I say there is a balance. CBS CNN NBC ABC All have a liberal point of view. In fact a recent New York Times poll (which is considered very left) showed that 90 percent of reporters, editors, (basically people who bring you the news) are democrats. They hate our current president and want Kerry to win. In fact during the coverage of the Democratic convention Dan Rather even slipped up and called John Edwards the vice president… I'm sure he just forgot that JE isn't the VP just yet…

I know what you are thinking… Just because Dan said that and the poll points it out, it doesn't mean they are feeding left wing thinking news. Which you may be right… From my experience however I feel that the main networks show things that favor the democrats more than republicans… When good news happens in IRAQ we don't see it, the economy is coming around, we don't hear it. John Kerry screws up or has something bad happen, its not shows or if it is, its down played big time. Feel free to debate me on this over emails…I'd like to add that there is a group of (Swift Boat Veterns) who are against Kerry. I doubt you have heard of them, they have been around for a while and trying to get attention, they are starting to succeed but now they are being attacked… Somehow they are called dishonorable, because they are motivated by the "right". Well what about those few vets who hang with kerry and support him? No motivation there????

Now as for radio, well lets see, we have Howard Stern who is flat out ordering his listeners to vote against Bush… Republicans have Rush Limbaugh who preaches and teaches a conservative view. But Stern VS Rush is unfair; rush would eat him, and his number of listeners out numbers Stern, and the new AIR AMERICA liberal talk radio with Al Frankin.

Okay So the right still holds it grip on the radio and if you don't think the news networks are Left then at least say its equal. But now we come to the artists… the Hollywood elite, the ones who want to save the world, and create environment friendly energy such as wind farms (So long as they are not in their back yard or sight).

These are the ones who just this year alone made more of a one sided attack on the government than any other interest group. Lets count the list…
(Day after tomorrow)
(Michael Moore's 9/11)
Manchurian candidate
Bill Clintons book
Woodrow's book
Dick Clark's book
Team America
And now the musicians will have their chance with the vote for change tour!
To be continued…..

Putting out the Blaze

Well well well… After visiting my sister and her baby, I ended up leaving their house in northern MN with my Brother-in-laws baby… Their brand new 2004 Chevy trail blazer… (He even kissed it goodbye).

I normally drive a 1992 chevy blazer. I'll come right out with it. It is a huge piece of poop. Not only is the paint beginning to chip a way, it has begun to make noises that were once heard only is scary movies. My car is dying, I knew it before the 6 hour trip to see my sister and it now has been confirmed by my car doctor that unless I can come up with enough money, it will have to be put to sleep.

On the way up north, My girlfriend and I were at the halfway point when my car began smoking. I never knew my car smoked, I had hoped those anti-smoking ads would have a positive effect but I was wrong. Anyways I pulled over to let it catch its breath. I checked its temperature and all its fluid levels… Everything seemed okay… Sure the oil needed a change along with the transmission but it was ten at night, and I'll get that stuff taken care of when I get back to Madison.

Anyways, I made it, and had a great time with my niece. When we did decide to leave, my car and I were met with a challenge. Leaving on an uphill driveway. My car made noises like an 80 year old man, and like that old man it didn't go anywhere… I had to take my car to the one automotive specialist in the town… A transmission specialist. He was booked solid for two weeks but to a look at my car anyways. Apparently my car didn't start smoking for fun, it was smoking on the way up here because the over-drive died. With that the other top gears started to leave as well…

Thus I was blessed to drive home a new car, which was taken back up north on Sunday with my Brothers family. My old blaze, was put on a truck and shipped back to my office… It can only move at 25 miles per hour, and as of right now I am not sure if it is worth the 1200 to fix. I am not attached to my car, so I'll get over it, especially if my next car is feisty and sexy… stay tuned to see what I do with my car with my old blaze.

To be continued….

Uncle ME!

Well I am an uncle. I got to see my niece this week and she is perfect. I have never been one to believe in love at first sight, but now I do. She is amazing…

Now I know she is not my baby, and that makes this weird, but this little girl puts things into perspective. I can only imagine the impact my life will have when I become a dad (ten years). After holding my niece I have a new found sense of responsibility, a new reason to fight harder in this life… I need to set an example with my life, I need to get things in order if I want what my sister has in ten years.

Back to the birth… I wasn't there to see it, and I chose to not watch the tape. But from what I hear it was pretty uhm interesting. My sis had a home birth. No doctors, no medicine, just an inflatable tub filled with water, and supporting family and friends. She gave birth to my niece at 437 on the 20th. She was 7 pounds and 19 inches long with a full head of hair… I'll try to post a picture sometime :). I got to see my neice on her second day. My sister was just fine walking around cooking and cleaning like she didn't give birth. I am very impressed with her. She used to be such a wus that would say "ouch" before the doctor even would give her a shot.

To my sister: Thank you for making me a proud uncle. I hope she grows up half way normal after dealing with this family. Just make sure she knows that no matter how nuts we may be, we'll all love her, and be there for her. Ofcourse her uncle D will always be the best and kick ass.

HOLY CRAP!

As of this morning my eldest sister had her water break... She was due on Aug 15. to give birth to a baby girl... She is 26 days early, and I am wondering if it will be a girl... maybe it will be a boy, or an alien...

Since most people whish for the child to be healthy I whish for it to be good looking. Maybe not right away, but once they start High School or the middle of Junior High . Its a well known fact that good looking people are happier, more succesful, and usually healthier since symetry is a sign of health and symetry is usually what we consider good looking. I don't make these rules I just happen to know they are true.

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld..." Have you ever seen a good looking homeless person?"

My two other sisters and my mother are heading up to MN where the kid will be crapped out into a birthing pool... Yes that sounds gross but lets face it, it is gross. Especially when the main creature that is giving birth to the smaller creature is your sister... I have opted to not drive/ride the 5.5 hour trip to see this home birth. I realize I may regret it later, but I have a bit of stuff that I need to get done tonight. Hopefully I can talk my father to drive up tomorrow and then I could ride with him, since my A/C broke. (Stupid crap car!). I am very happy, and proud to be an Uncle. I hope that when it is my turn to hold her that I do not drop her. I would feel sad.

And now...

To my future neice:
May you have a wonderful life, full of learning, and love. May you grow smarter than your mother and cooler than your dad. And most of all, listen to your uncle D. He is the wisest of all your family, and the one that will always be straight with you. In words that I am sure you'll understand someday, he kicks ass.

Freedom of SP_____???

Censorship in America???

With recent political heat some people have brought up the idea that the U.S. is censoring speech. Artists on the left are claiming that corporate America is forcing them to hold their tongue. This started to happen quite often every since the Michael Moore speech was cut short during the Oscars in 2002. Most recently Whoopie Goldberg had made a few comments at fundraising event for Kerry and Edwards… Her comments were about our current President George W. Bush… And just this weekend Sir Elton John commented on America claiming we censor our artists.

I happily disagree. I think the only thing that is holding back freedom of speech, or what is a form of censor ship is POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. Ironically this is something the left was proud to start.

What many people see as corporate censorship is something I see as choice. In the Michael Moore situation, his speech was cut short by the music queue being played over words. It is notorious that the Oscars run too long. The network has a responsibility to broadcast a well-timed show. It is how they pay their bills. Award shows are about the awards; they are not a time for one to use expensive airtime to voice opinion on politics or anything un-film related. It has always bugged me to see actors or directors or anybody say, "I'd like to thank the academy and by the way, our government sucks. Vote for Bob next election." WTF? Show some class!

In the Whoopie case, I can see both sides… I WILL however, side with "slim
Fast" the company she is a spokesperson for. Now people will argue that Slim Fast should have known what kind of comedy she does. And to them I say they did, I am sure they just had lots of letters ordering them to drop Whoopie or else customers will drop SLIM FAST… Now SM is left with a choice… Loose Whoopie or loose money… Stand up to John Q public or make sure their shareholders are happy and jobs are safe.

Bottom line to Elton John… We do not have a censorship on the artists… They are more than welcome to buy their own airtime. Or make a movie (MOORE) or write a book, or hold a press conference or sing a song… they can protest outside a convention on their own time…I guess if they want to voice their opinion then they need to find a forum that will hold them. Don't just assume that you are a celebrity and therefore can you can go anywhere and say what ever you want, and not expect people to disagree with what you say, your timing, or if you should be paid for saying it.
And that’s what I think~ Post a comment and let me know what you think.

L~

Good ol Bill

I post this link knowing that somewhere someone will call me a racist for doing so. But fuck it, Bill Cosby is a great man, a smart man, and a man who cares for the betterment of society...

good ol Bill

Those that know me, know that I have no problem with race. Yes I did play it on my N64 and that is part of the reason why the graphics are not sharp. But everything else was great, other than the ending… The whole going back in time to live your life thing was confusing because that means link would have to live under the rule of Gandorf. And Zelda would be in hiding… Was anyone else confused by this???

I have a love/hate thing with time travel… I am always interested in it, but when a story teller leaves holes like this, it really chaps my white ass. But other than the ending of this which I say link should just stay the hero and shag Zelda, it was a great story.

The Legend of Link is one of my favorite stories. And ever since I first played the story I had hoped someone would make it into a movie (hint to Cocles!). I also wish that the stories would build off each other…. But this has not happened… between the gameboy's and the changing of systems the legend of Zelda is becoming more of a myth. When they begin to make a new game the concentrate on the game, and the story comes later... I guess the story has become more important to me than the game.

After “the Ocarina of time” there was Majora’s mask… I have not played it but what I read really just didn't work for me. After that there was a couple Game-boy games… Four swords and some other one, that didn’t build of the previous story. And the one of latest Zelda game came out last year for GAME-CUBE. Which I also didn’t play… I read news from the site. http://www.zelda.com/universe/ it was the wind walker one… the animation sucks. It looks like a frickin cartoon. And for all I know Zelda isn’t even in the story…

I guess I just like adult link. I feel as if he aged with me. I whish they could just pretend those other stories never happened and make a continuation of Ocarina of time… Like how about Link goes back in time and see’s how much it sucks and then goes forward in time to marry Zelda and have a kid. Have him save Hyrule once more in a realistic setting, not some japanimation crap cartoon world.

I say lets brink back the 3d world of link. Epona the horse and and build the story from there….

edit: they did! check comments....

Little angels

It's not that I hate kids. I just hate other peoples kids. But maybe that is not even it. I don't know how to start this with out coming off as a complete prick. My goal is to only come off as a small jerk. So I guess I really have no problem with other people's kids in the right setting. And perhaps my problem isn't with children, maybe I should direct it to the parents; The ones who actually have a little control on their kids; the ones who should know better.

There are times in your life, events or special occasions where kids, especially misbehaving kids are not needed. I was at a so-called family event the other night that is put on every week by my city. It's called concerts on the square, and the city orchestra plays classical music and sometimes film scores. Many people attend this lovely event, they pack a nice dinner and possibly a fine wine or champagne. They lay out a blanket and relax, or I should say, try to relax…

This is where the problem begins. Some couples who chose to have kids,(you know the type, the kind of people who think their kids are perfect little angels) Well, they decide to bring all of them to the concert. They load them up in their SUV STROLLERS(giant!) and pack up all of their little toys. They unload all of this crap right in front of you, with out any regard to your evening plans.

And does cool mom or cool dad watch their kids???

HELL NO! They don't encourage their kids to be silent, they allow them to express themselves. To run all over the Capital grounds screaming their heads off, and if its not screaming its crying because one of the bastards hurt themselves. When this happens "cool mom" sooths the child and lets them play again. But every once in a while "cool dad" and "cool mom" will tell the kids to settle down. (Like after they spill some one elses soda pop, or beer...) So they reason with them, and try to come to a compromise… "Billy(he's five) do you think this is appropriate behavior?" "I think we need to settle down pumpkin." (Billy runs off again screaming)

My request to these parents:
Pack up your shit and leave. It's not fair for the families who left their kids behind or chose to not start a family to have to put up with these “little angels”. Or better yet leave them at home or with a sitter in the first place. And if you have to bring your child to a public place make damn sure the CHILDREN know how to act, and who the boss is.(that's the parent for those of you who don't know)

Since when did kids have more power than their parents anyways?

And that's what I think. Log on and post a reply to let me know what you think. ;-)

L~

Cocblog

I figure Cocles has one.
WHY THE HELL DON'T I???

So here it is.
